When the little things are off, my belief is "poisoned." (Brilliant analogy by the way.) And as a writer, it makes me more determined to get it right. Which can be hard--but oh, so worth it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113459088262891680.post-19296536318913008012011-12-13T20:52:45.568-07:002011-12-13T20:52:45.568-07:00You've just made my day as a critiquer! I always get that little twinge of guilt at being so nitpicky when I point out some little detail I happened to notice in someone's MS, but I will guilt no more!Botanisthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12098709722475364465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113459088262891680.post-19033529471741000302011-12-13T20:45:09.173-07:002011-12-13T20:45:09.173-07:00And also I would just like to state for the record...And also I would just like to state for the record that there are far too many commas in the second sentence of the first paragraph of my previous comment.

The end.Jenny P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16632739365854048008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113459088262891680.post-67853809057155054812011-12-13T20:43:45.800-07:002011-12-13T20:43:45.800-07:00For my first book, I read an entire architectural ...For my first book, I read an entire architectural survey for a house that was applying to be a historical landmark. It was one of the most boring things I have ever read, and yet absolutely necessary, since in my book, I had a house, that was applying for landmark status, and needed to have a survey done. The actual survey was a minor detail, and not discussed at length in the book, but I cringed at the idea of someone reading it and thinking, that's not how that actually works! And so I read the entire survey just to make sure my five lines of dialogue and one paragraph of description was accurate.

And oh, I've absolutely been on the reading end of such a situation. The details really do matter.Jenny P.https://www.blogger.com/profile/16632739365854048008noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9113459088262891680.post-79750904027661733342011-12-13T16:34:05.725-07:002011-12-13T16:34:05.725-07:00Once Upon A Time is in it's first season, so i...Once Upon A Time is in it's first season, so if you catch the reruns, you won't be missing much!Randy F.noreply@blogger.com
