I spent the better part of an hour trying to figure out how to embed this video into this post, and still can't do it. I hope I write better than I utilize the internet. I wasn't able to figure out how to bring the video to you, so you must go to the video.
This was a little gem I found on You Tube, and it portrays the things that I have personally witnessed writers do to poor agents and editors. It's a good reminder to those of you who might be going out and doing pitches anytime soon.

ReplyDeleteIn order to embed a youtube video on Blogger, you need to click the "Edit HTML" option instead of "compose", and copy paste the embed code, which is found directly to the right of the video.

Now for the actual comment. That video was hilarious. Although the placement of the handcuffs was a bit sloppy, the examples were perfect. If anyone thinks those are hyperbole, think again. At least for some writers.
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm glad I wasn't the first person laughing at this woman. I hope this wasn't a real pitch, those poor agents/editors. It must have been horrible. I gotta agree, the hero showing up on page 629 in chapter 24, halfway through a book? I hope she's got about 30 words per page.
ReplyDeleteMy 'word verification' word below as always, is not a real word. But it does have in proper order the word 'taboo'. I thought it ironic given this youtube video.

Thanks atsiko! I appreciate the lesson and have aved it so next time I can try again and perhaps embed accurately. My favorite part was when the editor pulled out a pillow and eye mask. so funny.
